Sunday, October 24th - Make the drive up to Alpharetta to see the Justin Varnes Quartet playing the music of Branford Marsalis from his album Crazy People Music. The quartet features the great tenor saxophonist John Sandfort along with the great rhythm section tandem of bassist Kevin Smith and pianist Louis Heriveaux.
Monday, October 25th - The TEN ATL jam session in East Atlanta is the place to be on Monday nights. The music goes from 9 until midnight and features a host of great jazz musicians in Atlanta. 495 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta
Tuesday, October 26th - Check out the amazing Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio at The Eastern in Reynoldstown. Be sure to bring your proof of vaccination, as it’s required here. 800 Old Flat Shoals Road, Atlanta.
Wednesday, October 27th- Bring your proof of vaccination and face mask, and head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session led by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. This is one of the best jazz jam sessions in town. You can hear many of the jazz voices of tomorrow in addition to established veterans. 9 to midnight. 553-1 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta.
Thursday, October 28th - The incredible vocalist Kurt Elling will perform at City Winery. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of the best vocalists of his generation at a great venue. Ponce City Market 650 North Ave. Atlanta.
Also on Thursday, Stop by the Commerce Club in Downtown Atlanta to see me perform with the great keyboardist Emmanuel Chops Smith. We play every Thursday from 6-9PM. The music, food, drinks, and view are always on point.
Friday, October 29th - The Music in the Park festival will kick off We Bass, an art exhibit at the beautiful space Gallery 992. 992 Ralph Abernathy Blvd. Atlanta.
