Saturday, October 9th - The Will Scruggs Trio will perform at Ray’s on the River from 6:30 to 9:30PM. Scruggs is one of the best saxophonists in Atlanta. 6700 Powers Ferry Road NW, Sandy Springs.
Also on Saturday, the Rod Harris Quartet will perform at the Velvet Note in Alpharetta from 7:30 to 11PM. Harris is a highly skilled guitarist and he routinely plays with the best musicians in Atlanta. 4075 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta.
Sunday, October 10th - Stop by C. Ellet’s at the Battery next to Truist Park in Cobb County from 11AM to 2PM to hear pianist Louis Heriveaux with bassist Tommy Souter.
In the evening, head to Roaring Social in Alpharetta to hear the great pianist Randy Hoexter and his trio from 7-10PM. 35 Milton Avenue, Alpharetta.
Monday, October 11th - The TEN ATL jam session in East Atlanta is the place to be on Monday nights. The music goes from 9 until midnight and features a host of great jazz musicians in Atlanta. 495 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta
Tuesday, October 12th - The John Sandfort Quintet featuring vocalist Taryn Newborne will perform at Roaring Social in Alpharetta. Don’t miss this chance to hear the dynamic frontline of Sandfort on tenor and Newborne’s vocals in this great new performance space. 35 Milton Avenue, Alpharetta.
Wednesday, October 13th - Bring your proof of vaccination and face mask, and head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session led by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. This is one of the best jazz jam sessions in town. You can hear many of the jazz voices of tomorrow in addition to established veterans. 9 to midnight. 553-1 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta.
Thursday, October 14th - Stop by the Commerce Club in Downtown Atlanta to see me perform with the great keyboardist Emmanuel Chops Smith. We play every Thursday from 6-9PM. The music, food, drinks, and view are always on point.
Friday, October 15th - Woodwind artist Sam Skelton and guitarist Trey Wright will perform at Volkstuin in Austell. 6-8PM. Volkstuin is a restaurant and small farm that doubles as a performance venue for great musical acts.
If you prefer to stay in town, also on Friday, the incredible duo of trumpeter Kris Tiner and guitarist Mike Baggata will perform at Eliot St. Pub. 51 Eliot St. SW, Atlanta.
