Here are your Atlanta Jazz Notes event listings for the week of December 21st, 2021:


Tuesday - Pianist David Ellington will perform with his trio at Venkman’s playing the music of Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas. This is a great annual event at Venkman’s, but it’s especially poignant this year as the club recently opened its doors after a long closure because of Covid. 740 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE


Wednesday, December 22nd - Bring your proof of vaccination and face mask, and head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session led by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. This is one of the best jazz jam sessions in town. You can hear many of the jazz voices of tomorrow in addition to established veterans. 9 to midnight. 553-1 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta.


Thursday, December 23rd - Joe Gransden and his big band will perform with the great Robin Latimore at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur. 515 N. McDonough St. Decatur.


Friday, December 24th - Vocalist Deb Bowman will perform an exciting set of Christmas-inspired songs at her concert entitled “A Big Love Holiday” at the Alliance Theatre at 2:30PM. 1280 Peachtree St. NE
