The Atlanta Jazz Festival is this weekend! Be sure to get out to hear some amazing jazz acts in Piedmont Park on Sunday and Monday. I won’t be able to make every show, but will provide my itinerary below of the shows I can’t miss.

Saturday, September 4th - On Saturday and Sunday, stop by C. Ellet’s Steakhouse at the Battery near Truist Park for brunch and incredible music by pianist Louis Heriveaux and bassist Tommy Souter. The duo play from 11am to 2PM. 2605 Circle 75 Parkway, Suite 400
Sunday, September 5th - The Atlanta Jazz Festival kicks off with an amazing lineup. Here is my list of must-see shows. At 1PM, vocalist Karla Harris will be with her band on the Meadow Stage and at 1:30, the incredible New York-based guitarist Pasquale Grosso will be on the Oak Hill Stage. At 5PM, Jazzmeia Horn will perform on the Meadow Stage followed at 7PM by the living legend bassist Ron Carter. At 7:30, saxophonist and composer Miguel Zenon will be on the Oak Hill Stage with his great band.
Monday, September 6th - Day two of the Atlanta Jazz Festival will start for me at the Oak Hill Stage at 1:30PM. The great vocalist Brenda Nicole Moorer will perform, followed at 3:30 by the amazing saxophonist Logan Richardson. At 5PM, trumpeter Theo Crocker will perform on the Meadow Stage, followed at 7PM by another great trumpeter, Sean Jones. At 9PM, the legendary saxophonist Archie Shepp will close out the festival on the Meadow Stage.
Wednesday, September 1st - Head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session led by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. I have been going most Wednesdays and the place has been busy and the music has been great. You can hear many of the jazz voices of tomorrow in addition to established veterans. 9 to midnight. 553-1 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta.
Thursday, September 2nd - Stop by the Commerce Club in Downtown Atlanta to see me perform with the great keyboardist Emmanuel Chops Smith. We play every Thursday from 6-9PM. The music, food, drinks, and view are always on point.
