Here are your Atlanta Jazz Notes event listings for the week of 2/7/22

Monday, February 7th - The TEN ATL jam session in East Atlanta happens every Monday evening. The music goes from 9 until midnight and features a host of great jazz musicians in Atlanta. 495 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta

Tuesday, February 8th - Joe Gransden’s Quintet will perform at Roaring Social in Alpharetta. 35 Milton Ave. Alpharetta. 8-11PM.

Wednesday, February 9th - The great guitarist Nick Johnson will perform with drummer Darren Stanley and bassist Evan Sarver at Southern Feedstore at 8PM at 1245 Glenwood Ave. SE.

Also on Wednesday, The Venkman’s Jazz Jam with Joe Gransden is back in the newly renovated space. All musicians are welcome to sit in. 740 Ralph McGill Blvd. NE.

Also on Wednesday, bring your proof of vaccination and face mask, and head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session led by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. This is one of the best jazz jam sessions in town. You can hear many of the jazz voices of tomorrow in addition to established veterans. 9 to midnight. 553-1 Amsterdam Ave NE, Atlanta.

Thursday, February 10th - There is new jam session in town hosted by Tony Hightower and Terence Harper with a host of amazing musicians. Doors at 8PM. The show starts at 9PM. At Relapse Theatre. 380 14th St. NW.

Also on Thursday, The amazing trombonist and vocalist Saunders Sermons will host the jam session at The Velvet Note in Alpharetta. 8-11PM. 4075 Old Milton Pkwy. Alpharetta.

Friday, February 11th - It’s Salsa Night at Eclipse Di Luna featuring a host of Atlanta’s best Latin Jazz players. 8:30 to 11:30PM. 764 Miami Circle NE. Atlanta.

Saturday, February 12th - Pianist Louis Heriveaux will perform at C.Ellet’s weekend jazz brunch every Saturday AND Sunday from 11-4PM. The food and music are top-notch. 2605 Circle 75 Pkwy Suite 400, Atlanta.

In the evening, the great guitarist Pat Metheny will perform with his Side Eye Trio featuring James Francies and Joe Dyson at Variety Playhouse. 1099 Euclid Ave. Atlanta.
