Saturday, July 24th - The incredible pianist Louis Heriveaux plays during Brunch at C. Ellet's, a steakhouse in the Battery area outside of Truist Park in Smyrna, with the bassist Tommy Souter. 11-2PM. 2605 Circle 75 Pkwy Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30339
At 6:15, the great guitarist Trey Wright will perform at The Third Door in Marietta and he will be followed by the high-energy New Orleans-inspired band Funk Cake led by trumpeter Alex Rodiek at 9, so be sure to stay for the later set! The Third Door is at 131 Church St. in Marietta.
Also on Saturday, the DMT trio, a freewheeling and adventurous jazz trio led by drummer Dallas Dawson will perform from 6:30 to 9:30. The event will also feature an artist market, food truck and a “late night dance party,” so get ready to spend the evening. Monday, July 26th - Stop by the TEN ATL jam session in East Atlanta. The music goes from 9 until midnight and features a host of great jazz musicians in Atlanta. 495 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta
Wednesday, July 28th - Head to Red Light Cafe for the weekly jam session lead by the great trumpeter and educator Gordon Vernick. I have been going most Wednesdays and the place has been busy and the music has been great.
